Due to SCS not being able to have a volleyball team this year, administration along with the athletic department and students have decided to start an intramural coed volleyball club.
The club meets every Wednesday from October 14 to November 4, four weeks straight. It is led by Mrs. Erdvig, who played volleyball in college and still loves to play and teach today.
Mr. Nieto explained, “There is a need for this club.”
A consistent interest from students craving the opportunity to play volleyball was another factor that led to the creation of this club.
When asked why the club is coed, Nieto said, “We want to provide opportunity for everyone, this club developed once the girls JV volleyball team folded.”
So far, 12 students (3 male, 9 female) have signed up.
This club shows the athletic department’s dedication, love and care for its students.
They “try to provide any high school sport that does not work out with a club” or an activity to keep students active and involved.
